Dean Cain already appears on Supergirl, now Teri Hatcher's joining the cast... surely a Lois & Clark reunion is on the cards?

Cain plays Supergirl's adoptive father Jeremiah, while Hatcher will shortly make her debut as a new villain - and now the show's producers have confirmed plans to have them cross paths.

"We'd love to. They would love to. Yeah, I mean, there's a plan," series boss Andrew Kreisberg told TV Guide.

"We've known Dean for a long time now. We didn't know Teri before this casting process and she's turned out to be the exact same way [as Dean], so she is in this for the fans and knows what her being a part of this means to so many people. So they're both really excited to give back."

Kreisberg hinted that Hatcher's character on Supergirl will be unlike anything we've seen her play before.

"She is so not playing Lois [Lane] and she is so not playing any character I've ever seen her play before," he enthused. "She's really playing something completely different from [what's] in her repertoire of all the things that she's done. And she's doing it amazingly."

Hatcher played Lois opposite Cain's Superman / Clark Kent in the classic '90s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Cain previously told Digital Spy that he would "love" to see a full-blown revival happen, saying: "I'd love to finish it off somehow - that would be insane. It would be incredible. I wish someone would get on that!"
