Destin Parks will do whatever it takes to rebuild Chicago, even if it means working with another alien ambassador. The Councils hope Jersula 'Sula' Ikera’s logical mind and calm demeanor will resolve the upheaval caused by the previous ambassador, but no one could have anticipated Sula’s reaction to the hardheaded human male she has been assigned to work with. His ability to get under her skin and ignite a flame inside her is quite alarming, mystifying, and leaves her questioning her own sanity.
Together, Destin and Sula must race to stop an alien cartel before anyone is taken off-planet, but the traffickers are not the only ones they will be fighting against – a battle is coming, bigger than anything they’ve yet seen...

One of my favourite scifi romance authors. Always a good storyline.
Abduction of human women and plenty of murders and mayhem.
A must read.👍 for Scifi, adventure junkies and mystery readers, well for everyone really.

I love love love that they are almost all on audio especially since my eyesight has been so bad due to health issues.
You won't be disappointed with her series but I would look to see the order first. It helps them make more since when you know everyone. LOL. Even though she does not consider herself an erotic writer, she is amazing at the scenes with it even though they don't take over the book like some authors but she does tend to not put enough in on others.
Plus she does write under 17 age books too, I have not read those because I like the ones I am already in. Waiting for a new book to them us bad enough much less another series. I just wish you could write faster and David would read them faster. He has the sexiest male voice out there so far but I guess he is in high demand because it seems to take forever.
I use to never start a series unless it was completely done but with S E Smith, I just couldn't wait. Darn it.

Plus I hadn’t yet read the series at the time of its publication.
Plus I often worry about how human males will look compared to all the aliens.
But the author did it for me, she was able to bring to life a man I would to share my life with. He may not be as strong by the strength as the aliens he has to face but he has a willpower that makes for it.
I also loved how he was described, S.E. Smith brought him to life, the way he walks, he poses, he had his hands in his pockets, it was like if I saw him move and act right in front of me.
Jersula/Sula is one hell of a woman, she is smart, nice, feisty and brave. She accepts without backing down that the human male she despised at first is maybe her future.
I smiled too at the description of the effect of crying on her, she is giving justice to all of us women with our red eyes and puffy nose.
The background story continues and we have glimpses of all the previous characters from the series plus The Lords of Kassis.
I can’t wait for the next one coming in few days.

I think of all the series that Ms. Smith has written (that I've read) this particular series is my favorite. It's a tad more believable and mature than the Dragon Lords and the only other series of her's I read was the Lord's of Kassis, which I disliked so much, that after reading it I couldn't bring myself to read anything else she'd written. That being said, I did like this book. I've read elsewhere that Ms. Smith doesn't read her reviews. Well, that must be wrong, or else she has someone else read them and give her the highlights because one of my biggest complaints was her overuse of the words husky and huskily. She used it so much, that I thought everyone must've been a chain smoker. And she, like most writers now days, seemd to think bemused was another form of amused, which it isn't. Well, over the two years she has taken to write more books, she seems to have grown a little. I was pleasantly surprised that the husky voices had been silenced and her descriptive words were much more varied in these last two books. Maybe, if I'm lucky, she'll go back one day and update her older books.
Other than the writing being better, the style is consistent with the rest in this series. While I often wonder if there is more than one person writing these series, this one seems at least to be written by the same person throughout. For example, it's difficult for me to believe that the person who wrote the offshoot of the Dragon's series the Sarafin Warriors is the same that wrote the Dragon Lords or Lord's of Kassis. While Dragon's was interesting the way it went back in every book to give you the same story from someone else's point of view, the basic storyline was pretty immature. I got the feeling as I read, that it was written by someone young and inexperienced who just wanted to shock everyone with what they learned watching porn. And the Kassis series I swear was written by a man because the abuse and degradation of women was really shocking to me. And the characters in both series were just kinda dopey. But the Sarafin Warriors I have read over and over because they are just laugh out loud funny. Those two books make me wish that all her books were that good.
Overall, while I will likely keep up with this series, I am not sure that I am interested in continuing the Dragon Lords even though I see Ms. Smith has finally added another book to that series as well. I just can't imagine where else that storyline could go. And, as I have said before, it sure is lucky for a universe full of lonely males that good old Earth is here to fill in the female gap and that we are oh so compatible with seemingly every other life form. Because if Humans weren't so harvestable for breeding purposes, everyone else would die off.
