You know that impossible air-travel dream of breezing through airport security and avoiding the mad dash for an overhead bin? Well, it's one step closer to reality with the advent of the "Airport Jacket," a parka capable of discreetly carrying everything you would want to bring with you on the plane.

The "Airport Jacket" can reportedly fit up to 30 pounds of goods inside its 14 inner pockets. According to the Australian creators, its pouches are large enough to carry a laptop, iPad, two pairs of shoes, a pair of jeans, three T-shirts, two pairs of shorts, underwear for several days, a light sweater, a dress, a liquids bag, wallet, phone, and passport with room to spare. And hey, if walking through the airport without any baggage just feels too weird—or if you'd like to shed the heavy coat while indoors—don't fret. The whole jacket can be zipped up into a duffle with handles.

The jacket can hold up to 30 pounds. Just be careful sitting down.

The Airport Jacket/Kickstarter

But don't throw out your compact suitcases just yet. The "Airport Jacket" is still but a fantasy. The project is currently seeking nearly $77,000 in funding via Kickstarter. (It's already raised more than $12,800, with a month left to reach its goal.) The finished product, which is set to be offered in several different lengths and styles, will reportedly retail for $180, though the inventors claim that it will eventually pay for itself, as the wearers will avoid baggage fees.

It may all seem to good to be true, but the innovators behind the packing solution claim their prototype made it through security and onto a plane without a hitch. Just in case, it might be best to mentally prepare for an awkward security screening if randomly selected, and travelers should maybe think twice before sitting down while wearing it. Interested?
