A pop up cinema in a Grade II listed Manchester mill is set to host four weeks of film screenings.

Rogue Studios will open to the public to show a programme of films inside Crusader Mill, a former textile factory on the edge of Piccadilly that has housed the complex of working art studios for 16 years.

The artists were due to leave in December following the multi-million pound sale of the entire mill site, when 97 resident artists will all be on the hunt for a new home ahead of its redevelopment into premium apartments.

Before then Rogue Cinema, which runs from February 18 to March 18, takes over the space to celebrate what a creative hub the building has become.

The festival of film will occupy the building's first floor project space and is based around artist films - some of them made by residents at Crusader Mill - including the premiere of a number of works by independent American film-maker George Kuchar.

The venue, at 72 Chapeltown Street, is normally closed to the public apart from on Rogue's special open studios when people can speak to and buy directly from the artists.

The season of films includes the following screenings:

February 18: 16mm shorts from Simon Liu and a performance piece from James Snazell using four 16mm projectors.

February 24: A rare screening of the visual diaries of the renowned American independent filmmaker George Kuchar, Retrospective Pt 1 - Weather Diaries 1-3.

February 25: A second installment of George Kuchar's diaries, Retrospective Pt 1 - Weather Diaries 4-6 plus Greetings From Boulder.

March 3: Film Material 20 features new films from Rogue artists and emerging names, including Chris Paul Daniels & Sam Meech, Kevin Craig, and Maya Sherpa.

March 5: Action Space used large inflatable structures to create alternative spaces for art, education, and creative play - this film sees Huw Wahl make a new inflatable to mess around on.

March 10: So goes the explanation of this event, a masked, straw-festooned shamanic vagabond called Lord Mongo and his new-fangled three-piece band Tuskmoth perform live music to cinematic visuals by Nick Jordan.

March 18: Film Material - Soup is an informal place to talk films and discuss your own ongoing projects.

March 18: Mary Stark and David Chatton Barker perform a live piece using 16mm film rolls.
