If you’ve been holding off on buying The Last Guardian for some reason, your list of excuses is dwindling: The long-in-development action game starring a boy and his bird-cat-dog is now available for $39.99.

The $20 drop from the original price of $59.99 represents a discount of 33 percent. To be clear, this isn’t a temporary sale: A Sony representative confirmed to Polygon today that it’s a permanent price cut. That’s why the discounted price is available at the PlayStation Store in addition to retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop.

It seems pretty soon for a price drop on a long-anticipated game like The Last Guardian, especially because it’s a Sony-published title. The game launched on PlayStation 4 on Dec. 6, 2016 — just over eight weeks ago. Then again, that release date was after Thanksgiving, so Sony didn’t have the advantage of a Black Friday sales bump.
