The Home Depot

An acquisition of Interline, a home repair and maintenance products firm, and a 2 year trial run of delivery services has positioned The Home Depot (THD) to begin offering same day deliveries for professionals.

By Spring, Home Depot will start same day delivery services within a 4 hour window, while working it’s way up to a 2 hour window, J.T. Rieves, THD’s Vice President of Pro Business recently told Pro Sales Magazine.  Delivery services are available now and, according to the company’s website, standard deliveries cost between $59 and $79 depending on the order. Most in-store and in-stock items are available for delivery.

Interline has played a large role in increasing THD’s efforts in the delivery world, as they more than tripled the amount of outside sales reps THD previously employed, they add close to 1000 extra delivery trucks, increase items the Pro Desk sells, and will integrate their web offerings into THD’s system.

According to Pro Sales Magazine, 40% of The Home Depot’s sales come from just 4% of their customers. The 4% is largely made up of maintenance crews, painters, repairmen, and small remodelers.
