Without the popular body contouring procedure known as a body lift, it’s nearly impossible to lose the sagging skin that comes with dramatic weight loss, childbirth, sun damage and aging. A body lift will help remove cellulite, skin, and fat from numerous areas, and it can take as few as three hours to complete.
The Body Lift improves the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports fat and skin. The excess fat and sagging skin are removed to treat conditions caused in part by poor tissue elasticity.
Patients who are experiencing extra skin from multiple pregnancies or bariatric surgeries may benefit from body contouring. Candidates for a body lift are:
After body contouring surgery, the incisions that were used to remove the fatty deposits and drooping skin are closed with layered medical sutures. Bandages are placed over these areas and drains (tiny tubes) may be inserted to remove excess fluid that collects under the skin. Results are often immediate and dramatic although it may take up to two years to see the final results.
Though many doctors do perform body contouring procedures, with a body lift, it is best to select one with skill and experience you can trust. Whether you’re in the Jacksonville area or are just visiting, board-certified plastic surgeon Timothy E. Fee will create a treatment plan to achieve the highest quality results.
