Safety Tips and Tricks

  1. Always Have a Sharp Blade: This will be sure to ensure that you have more control and will not swerve off when cutting your fabric. A sharp blade will also make for a nice clean cut if you do happen to cut yourself, which is better for stitching up than a jagged one.

  2. Open It When You are Ready: Make sure to only open your rotary blade when you are prepared to use it. Don't open your blade just because you are starting a project and then leave it lying around while you are working on your quilt.

  3. Always Close Your Rotary Cutter: You always want to make sure to close your rotary cutter when you are done with it. This way there is no concern of it falling on your foot, or a child getting ahold of it.

Be sure you know how to open and close your rotary cutter before you starting quilting as well.
