North Koreans sentenced to prison following fatal incident in Russia

Sentences of two years and six months handed down to fishermen

Two North Korean citizens have been found guilty of attacking Russian government representatives, with both being sentenced to two years and 6 months in a penal colony, Russia’s Department of Investigations announced on Thursday.

The incident in question occurred on October 15, 2016, when a North Korean fishing vessel - the “Dae Young 10″ - was caught illegally fishing in Russia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the crew resisted arrest.
