HTTPS browsing the ORNL DAAC data archive.

To serve the ORNL Distributed Active Archive Center (ORNL DAAC) user community more effectively, the ORNL DAAC has transitioned from FTP (file transfer protocol) to HTTPS (hypertext transfer protocol secure) for browsing our data archive. The HTTPS updates are designed to increase performance and improve security during data retrieval. In addition, HTTPS offers comparable functionality to FTP and allows a client to maintain a single connection to a server that can be used for any number of file transfers. HTTPS browsing of our data archive can be accessed at Browse Data or you can access this option from our project pages. Note that NASA Earthdata login is required to access data via HTTPS. Please contact the ORNL DAAC User Services Office for more information on downloading data via HTTPS.
