Is it possible to work with the idea to create a new public space in Amsterdam which gathers different functions and at the same time it shows its potential as a new landscape inside the tissue of the city?

Waveland is the meeting between these two elements: the land of a new hilly landscape and the water of the river IJ. The natural elements shape the project for a new playschool and a public auditorium. Sinuous and spontaneous lines are generated from the structure of the two elements creating a new space for all.

Waveland places itself with a strong approach to the site stimulating curiosity and questions as well as a child who discover things for the first time. We are in Netherland, the country where most of the areas below sea level are man-made.

The project wants to tell a story to the children of a new gesture to colonize the land. We should try not to continue to create buildings or simply boxes but to create new landscapes and a new concept of anthropic nature.
