Futuristic cars controlled by voice commands that can interpret passengers' emotions and drive themselves are among the biggest attractions at CES 2017 .
The technology trade show kicked off in Las Vegas on Thursday, with around 170,000 visitors expected across four days.
From autonomous vehicles that let you kick back and enjoy the ride to concept cars designed to blend into your home environment, this year has seen some real stunners.
Here's our pick of the most futuristic cars of CES 2017.
Toyota Concept-i
While the Concept-i looks wacky from the outside, it's the innards that are really futuristic. To be exact it's 2030 futuristic - which is when this concept, or something similar, is due on the road.
The cockpit has been designed to make driving fun, even in a future where this and most other cars will be self-driving.
There is a game controller-like steering wheel, for manual driving, but if the driver gets bored or distracted, the car's AI, called Yui, will take over.
Yui appears on the car's screens, able to move about and interact with voice commands as well showing emotions.
Faraday Future FF 91
This is the fastest production car in the world. It can manage a face melting 0-60mph time in a record breaking 2.39 seconds. That's thanks to an all electric drive system with a whopping 1,050hp.
Despite this, it also has an impressive 378-mile range on a charge, claims manufacturer Faraday Future. But it's the gadgets that are even more impressive.
The FF 91 uses facial recognition to unlock the car, a LIDAR along with cameras and sensors so it's future-ready for self-driving, plus a glass roof that can be tapped to change from clear to shade mode.
The Faraday FF 91 is due to start production in 2018 with a deposit price of $5,000, (which is about £4,000), and a total price which bosses say is in line with “a premium flagship model”.
Honda NeuV
The quirky Honda NeuV is described as an “Electric Urban Vehicle” that will be part of an automated ride-sharing programme.
The pod-like car features an “emotion engine” - onboard software that generates emotions and, Honda says, will add to the connection between passenger and car.
The doors slide up to open for huge entry space which also makes for easy access, even in tight spaces. The car is a concept for “level four autonomy”, meaning it's still a good few years from becoming a reality.
Rinspeed Oasis
The Swiss car maker's concept is an autonomous two-seater that can rotate on the spot, has a huge 5K display, responds to voice and gestures plus offers self-driving or steering wheel options.
The car also features personal assistant software and even a round work table with a keyboard for work on the move.
The windscreen acts as a display for augmented reality driving while the glass roof can be used as a solar panel for power.
Renault POM
Renault has unveiled its concept of the future with its POM. The electric car is based on Renault's Twizy and offers an open-source platform that can be bought by third-parties to be built upon.
The POM offers a 62-mile range on a charge and has enough room to seat a single person. The platform is the result of a partnership between Renault and OSVehicle which offers on-demand vehicle design and engineering.
BMW HoloActive Touch Concept
BMW has shown off its vision of the future for car interiors - and it's hologram heavy. The projections sit near the driver's hands while the car uses cameras to detect finger movements which can be used to make selections.
BMW has already added gesture controls to its 7 and 5 Series cars so perhaps the touch interactive holographic future isn't too far off.
Hyundai Mobility Vision
This concept is really out there, or to be exact, in there.
The idea here is that this future car will dock into your home allowing you to step out into living space. Its seats swivel round for extra seating while the hydrogen fuel cell power system and air conditioning can help run the home.
This concept blurs the lines between home and car with the idea being that you can continue living inside the car as you did at home. It certainly takes the idea of turning the garage into an office to a new level.
Panasonic Autonomous Cabin
You might not think car when you hear the name Panasonic but the tech manufacturer has been busy working on the future of what cars could soon look like inside. The Panasonic Autonomous Cabin sits in a self-driving car to act like an office-cum-lounge.
There's a touchscreen that converts into an interactive table plus augmented reality windows that allow passengers to select passing landmarks to learn more.
The interior features a couch-like seat plus two chairs with built-in personal speakers, a fridge, coffee machine and air purifier.
Smart materials allow for displays on wood effect finishes. When any of it will become a reality is anyone's guess but it's a glimpse at the way things are developing.
