It was a great kickoff to the new year with an awesome group, hiking up in the snow was way better than having a hangover from going out on New Years Eve. Conditions were perfect, sunny skies with high wind gusts above 9000 feet. The summit was windy as hell and my face was pelted with ice, wouldn’t want to be anywhere else to start of 2017.
Well done, Louis! For a number of years my New Years tradition was hiking Santiago Peak — aka Saddleback Mountain. Baldy is even better!
