To start, let’s examine Patriot safety…

Enhanced Vehicle Stability

The 2017 Jeep Patriot was designed to maintain optimum control even when driving on hazardous surfaces. The frame itself is braced with a touring suspension and rear stabilizer bar that keeps the vehicle steady when pulling through tight curves or snowy roads. Technology, like electronic stability control1 and roll mitigation,2 bolster this frame, furthering precision. Hill start assist3 is then added to prevent any backsliding when stopped on an incline.

A ParkView™ rear backup camera is available in the Patriot to assist drivers in backing in or out of crowded spaces. Speed control is also in place to help keep your vehicle from over-accelerating, which can be a huge help on slick roads.

An advanced airbag system is included in the SUV to comprehensively shield occupants in the event of a crash. Advanced multistage front airbags can detect crash severity and inflate bags accordingly. Also, active head restraints are added to reduce injuries to the neck and spine during rear-collisions.

Performance Specifications

With the 2.4L four-cylinder available in the Jeep Patriot, drivers can reach up to 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. Dual overhead camshafts and variable valve timing streamline this high-powered engine, allowing it to maintain 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg city.4 With the six-speed AutoStick® automatic transmission, drivers can choose to perform effective, clutch-less manual shifts if they like.

Beyond aiding in all-weather driving, the durable suspension included in the Patriot allows for higher towing power. With the right equipment, drivers can tow up to 2,000 pounds of cargo. Firm Feel power steering allows for higher control even when hauling these heavy loads. The 120-amp alternator, in conjunction with the 525-amp maintenance free battery, moderates engine power no matter how hard your Patriot is working.

Interior Comforts

Extra interior room is afforded to occupants of the 2017 Jeep Patriot with 104.4 cubic feet of passenger volume and 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. Occupants in both the front and back rows won’t have to worry about feeling cramped with 41/39.9 inches of headroom and 40.6/39.4 inches of legroom.2017 Jeep Patriot Review

Rear seats include heat ducts for extra warmth, while front seats include further comfort options with height-adjustable shoulder belts.

Uconnect® voice commands with Bluetooth® streaming allow drivers to integrate their mobile devices into the Patriot. They can access these devices from the available 6.5-inch touchscreen display. SiriusXM® is also included for more entertainment.

1 Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Always wear your seat belt and obey traffic laws. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESC warning lamp flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behavior to prevailing road conditions.
2 Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Always wear your seat belt and obey traffic laws. ERM reduces the potential for wheel lift, but it cannot prevent rollover conditions due to other factors, such as hazardous road conditions, leaving the roadway or striking objects or other vehicles. No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless driving actions.
3 Criteria must be met for Hill Start Assist to activate: Vehicle must be stopped, vehicle must be on an 8% grade or greater hill, and gear selection must match vehicle uphill direction. Hill Start Assist will not activate if vehicle is in Neutral or Park.
