Today we are heading off to Australia for this gorgeous rustic wedding that is FULL of the most beautiful flowers and amazing details. The wedding was sent into me by Adorn Invitations and it really is a beauty of a day! The first thing that struck me was Frances in her stunning Rue de Seine gown, I just love it, as well as the amazing hanging flowers and stunning decor. The whole day has a laid back vibe couples with a rustic elegance that really suits the venue and the location. It has all been captured perfectly by The White Tree Photography, great work by everyone involved in this fabulous wedding.

Frances and Chris were married on the 3rd September 2016 on the Zonzo Estate, Yarra Valley, Australia. ‘The beautiful and rustic Zonzo estate – a winery and restaurant. Because we met in the country, we felt it was only fitting that we wed in the country as well. The first thing we noticed about the venue was how warm and inviting it was! There was gorgeous timber wood everywhere and it had so much potential in terms of décor and decorations. The food was also absolutely delicious! We had 80 guests and we took just under 12 months to plan the wedding.’

How they met
We actually met at a burger café and after chatting, Chris asked me out on a date. One date led to another and we started dating long distance as I was living in country Vic at the time. I’d never met anyone like Chris and after 6 months, I knew that I had to move back to Melbourne. I think I knew that I’d marry him after our first meeting though. I remember driving home in complete and utter shock, thinking to myself that this guy could be the one!

The Proposal
A year after we met, he took me out to dinner and as we were strolling along the water front at Williamstown, he got down on one knee and proposed.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Definitely splurged on the venue and photographer but in my eyes, these were the most important aspects!

Why did you choose your photographer?
The White Tree creates such natural shots. Their post editing is also beautiful and went so well with our rustic theme.

The Dress
Rue de Seine from The Bridal Atelier. Accessories were by LOVEON Jewelery . I walked past a bridal store with a window display that really caught my eye. The styling was very bohemian and romantic and un-like most places. I went in and within 10 minutes I knew I’d found my dress. I felt beautiful, and most importantly I felt like myself. It was so unbelievably elegant but the lace crochet mermaid gown was unique as well.

The Suit and Bridesmaids
Chris’ suit was by Hugo Boss.

Theme or Colour Scheme
We wanted everything green and natural to accompany all of the timber in our venue.

Flowers
I had a combination of blushing pink and white roses, native faun such as eucalyptus, baby’s breath and baby peonies. This was also mirrored in our hanging arrangements but we included some more greenery.

Decoration
We focused on the hanging floral arrangements for our decorations.

Food
A delicious antipasti platter and pizzas! The food was all so fresh.

Wedding Cake
It was a two-tier sponge cake with white chocolate filling and a vanilla icing. It was adorned with beautiful white roses – the same as in my bouquet. It was honestly so pretty that it was a shame to eat it!

Stationery
We got our stationery done by the amazing Adorn Invitations. They’re a UK company who have gorgeous laser cut designs! We went for a charming floral invitation.

Personal Touches
We made the cover for our wedding guest book (from typo), and guests took polaroids and taped them into the book with a message. I added a touch of rustic twine around the guest’s names and bonbonniere jars as well. Most of the decoration was also a collaboration between Zonzo estates and us.

Special Moments or Highlights
Chris’ face when I was walking down the aisle! I’ve always been a sucker for his eyes.

Advice for Other couples
Start planning early and keep records of everything (spread-sheets). Consider hiring a car vs. expensive chauffeurs. Do lots of research on Pinterest, Instagram and online and make sure you read lots of reviews. Do what you like! Don’t be pressured by other people’s opinions.
