MLK Day of Service

Monday, January 16th, 2017 from 9:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

About

We will be there RAIN OR SHINE (barring thunder and lightning).

Each year, American YouthWorks serves the Austin community on MLK Day by beautifying Austin’s historic Burditt Prairie Cemetery (also known as Burdett Prairie Cemetery). The cemetery is the final resting place of former slaves and emancipated African Americans and their descendants. In addition, we will provide beautification and trail work at the adjacent Montopolis Greenbelt.

We carry on this tradition in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event is open to the public, and will take place on January 16th, 2017 from 9am-12pm at 6700 Felix Avenue in Austin. Families and children are welcome!

Lunch will be sponsored by HEB and served from 12pm-1pm. Join our members and staff for a day of service and community! Register now.
