The freelance industry has almost endless appeal for many workers frustrated with the structures of the corporate world.

In particular, online freelancing has proved to be more than just a flash in the pan work trend, continuing to pick up momentum around the globe.

And given our thriving global freelance community of designers here on DesignCrowd, we wanted to learn more about what makes the career choice increasingly appealing.

So we conducted a survey of more than 1,000 freelance designers from around the world and asked them about their habits, motivations, and lifestyles.

The Freelance Behaviour Report explores which demographics choose the new career path, what the reasons behind people adopting the freelance life, and how they go about select jobs.

There are also some revealing insights around what they choose to wear to work and what their biggest distractions are.
