MediaShift is producing our next Journalism School Hackathon on the Oct. 20 to 22, 2017, weekend, co-produced by the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas (near Dallas-Fort Worth). We're convening a group of top students (graduates and undergraduates), faculty and professionals for the weekend Hackathon, with a real-world mission of creating startups in the sports and health areas. Students will have a chance to collaborate on diverse teams of students with faculty and pro facilitators.
No coding background is needed! The Hackathon is actually more like a Startup Weekend, with the creation of a startup name, business model and pitch deck.
If you are a Fall 2017 undergraduate or graduate college student based in the UNITED STATES, and need financial assistance to travel to North Texas, please fill out the application below to be considered for a travel stipend. Deadline to apply is September 11, 2017. You can receive up to $500 to cover travel expenses, but will still need to cover other expenses and registration fees. Thanks to the Ford Foundation for helping provide the travel scholarships!
