J-P: Heavy rain expected Saturday night, Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - We are looking at increasing high clouds this afternoon with temperatures in the lower 60s.

While there is no rain in the forecast tonight, we are watching a big rainmaker to our Southwest.

This system will spread heavy rain to the area by Saturday night. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 30s.

Rain chances look low early Saturday with mostly cloudy skies. The best chances for rain will come after 4 p.m.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 50s. Saturday night will be wet and cool. Expect overnight lows in mid 40s.

Sunday will be a soaker with several inches of rain is expected across the area.

High temperatures Sunday will reach the lower 50s and temperatures remaining steady through Sunday night. Expect the rain chances to decrease a bit after 6 p.m.

First Alert: Monday's forecast will again be wet. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 60s during the afternoon and evening. It is possible we could see a few isolated strong storms Monday night into Tuesday.

At this point, the severe weather threat remains low, but needs to be monitored. The main threat for stronger storms would likely remain south of I-20.

Tuesday should be partly sunny with a few storms possible. Highs Tuesday will reach around 65 degrees. Wednesday should be dry with temperatures in the lower 60s.
