What flooring is best for your Laundry Room?

Who enjoys the Laundry room? Well if you don’t but you know you have to use it then why not make it look a bit more appealing at least. You could add a bit of paint and change the flooring at an amazing budget price. You just need to consider what might be the best flooring choice as you don’t want to keep on replacing it if it gets ruined. Is it a place where people are always in and out? You don’t want a lot of dirt being brought in! What is more important to consider is flooring for underneath your washing machine and dryer if you have one.

The laundry room will more than likely have spillages and leaks from time to time. It could be an idea to have some kind of hard flooring installed so then you won’t have to replace and carpet or other type of soft flooring. The washing machines and dryers can also make some movement so another thing you won’t want to do is keep moving your flooring back into its original place.

Your best bet is to have solid hardware flooring. Tiles can be very useful but also vinyl flooring is amazing as well due to all of the different ranges and styles we supply. You are definitely going to find something to brighten your room up and make it more than a laundry room!

Like any other room in the home, the laundry room plays an integral part of daily family life. Whether this area is big enough to double as another room, or shares space in a hallway closet, having the right flooring installed underneath your washer and dryer machines will make a world of difference – in both looks and functionality.   A few things to consider:

  • Flooring is subject to moisture in a laundry room; everything from wet laundry to spills from the utility sink can harm flooring.
  • Not only will your family members take a toll on the flooring, but so will the movements of the machines.  If not fitted with the proper footing and protection, the constant tumbling will wear away at flooring over time.

Even if you don’t anticipate your flooring to be exposed to much moisture, it’s bound to happen at one point or another.  And as always, preventive measures are better than constant repairs.  Both ceramic tiles and luxury vinyl are extraordinarily resistant to water.  This makes it easy to clean up spills, while also preventing permanent stains and damage.

It only makes sense to have a flooring that will stand up to the daily abuse from tumbling machines and piles of laundry.  Ceramic tiles, and especially vinyl, hold up well against daily foot traffic.  Additionally, scuffs and marks are easy to erase, which means flooring can look as good as new for years with the proper care.

Maybe the biggest advantage to these two types of flooring is their variety.  Homeowners aren’t limited to just a few colours and sizes.  Both ceramic tile and luxury vinyl are available in virtually endless options. With such a wide selection of product, finding the one that works best in any laundry room is easy to do!

Luxury ‘hardwood’ flooring is great for those who’d like to have real hardwood flooring in their laundry rooms, but don’t want to risk ruining their investment.  Ceramic tiles, and their variety, can offer homeowners endless tiled looks. Like in any space, water-resistant rugs and floor coverings will be a great asset in your laundry room.  They add an extra layer of protection between your new flooring and everyday life, as well as add another element of design.
