If you’re going to slap the Jeep name on a go-kart, you better make sure it lives up to brand’s pedigree. But with three gears, plus reverse, a swing axle keeping it stable on off-road terrain, and over-sized air-filled tires including a spare, the Jeep Revolution BFR-3 go-kart might be better suited for off-roading than your sedan is.
If they’re sticking to roads and straightaways, the BFR-3's gearshift, located to the right of its seat, lets riders squeeze as much speed from their pedaling as possible, just like on a bike. But when the terrain gets bumpy or steep, they can switch things up so that it’s easier to pedal while traversing off-road conditions.
The Jeep Revolution BFR-3 can even be pedaled in reverse, making it easier to turn around using a three-point turn. But it also allows riders to back out of a narrow pathway before they find themselves completely stuck.
The go-kart starts at around $1,000, but that price tag can quickly climb with options like a roll bar, a passenger seat that can be strapped to the back, and even a spare tire for emergency repairs while away from the garage. Since the BFR-3 weighs in at just over 100 pounds, the last thing you’d want is to have to drag it back home—or pay for a tow truck go-kart.
