The Crime Prevention Website

Hi everyone

Well, it’s been several weeks since I’ve been on the website and more specifically on this news page.

It all started with the build-up to my son’s wedding (that was a week off in Devon and Cornwall) and that was followed by an almost three weeks stay with our friends in Northern Cyprus. When I got back I had a rather involved job to do for Which? Magazine, which I can tell you about when the work is published and then it’s been putting the garden away for winter.

All in all I have been extremely busy and have only been able to monitor the website and reply to the emails coming in.

By next week everything will have returned to normal and I’ll be back on the website each day regularly posting up items of interest for your perusal (love that word!)

In the meantime if any of you lovely people out there have installed a Smart Home Security System I would love to hear from you (by email using my contact form).

Tell me which make you’ve got, what you think of it and how easy it was to install. I’m particularly interested in what back-ups the system might have for things like power outages and loss of internet connection.

Because I wasn’t around I was unable to go on and on about the earlier, darker evenings as I’ve done so each year, so now I will and remind you that burglary numbers will now be going up with thieves taking advantage of the fact that homes will be left in darkness, because people have not or have forgotten to operate some internal lighting on timers.

Please, please sort out your security lighting arrangements now and do as much as you can to make your home look occupied when it isn’t – plug-in timers, solar switches and Fake TVs don’t cost a great deal, but could save you a great deal of misery.

Be back next week!
