Washington - Drivers in the United Arab Emirates are being recruited for a study of brain waves generated by the thrill of driving at breakneck speeds, Nissan's premium Infiniti has announced.

The opportunity is being marketed as a scientific study, using wireless headsets from the company Emotiv that translate brain waves into meaningful data on mental performance and sub-conscious responses, according to the release.

“An experience that provokes powerful emotions, passion and excitement, enabling its driver to really push their limits,” said the company's pitch for volunteers who wish to drive the recently launched turbocharged Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 model.

The Red Sport performance model is powered by Infiniti’s new twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, rated at 298kW.

The UAE's runway-like highways through a desert that extends beyond many horizons provide an ideal environment for performance car enthusiasts.

However, it was unclear where and how the four-week experiment would be conducted.
