Satyajit Ray (2 May 1921- 23 April 1992), one of the greatest filmmakers of the 20th century who was born in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India into a Bengali family and died at the age of 70 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. He was not only a brilliant director but also a producer, publisher, screenwriter, lyricist, illustrator, writer, calligrapher, film critic, graphic designer, and music composer.
Ray Sir directed a total of 36 movies, including short movies, documentaries, and feature movies. The popular and most widely famous fictional characters created by him are Feluda, the Sleuth, and Professor Shonku.
