A notice has been served on the Kalasipalya police station inspector Raghavendra R for posting his views on his Facebook page, mocking the proposed steel flyover project.

The inspector has been asked to explain reasons for posting his views on a government policy. “I have slapped a notice on Raghavendra seeking explanation from him within three days on commenting on the government policy,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) M N Anucheth said.

Raghavendra has a Facebook account in the name Raghavendra Ramanna. He posted his views at 8.37 pm on November 12, mocking the project.

He had said that by scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had stopped the investment of black money in the project. He also stated that this was a master stroke by Modi.

Raghavendra  had mentioned that Modi’s decision was a victory for those who were opposing the project. As many as 128 people had liked his status and over a dozen had posted comments.

Home Minister G Parameshwara took the Facebook post seriously and directed the City Police Commissioner N S Megharikh to submit a report. Parameshwara said action would be taken against the inspector in accordance with the law. Raghavendra withdrew his post following serious repercussions.
