Donald Glover Cast As Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian
A post over at the official Star Wars site brings some exciting movie casting news: Donald Glover, known for his recent original series Atlanta, as well as his role on Community, has been cast as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming but still untitled Han Solo film. The actor will join Alden Ehrenreich in his role as a young Han Solo.
Lando’s involvement in the story is yet to be detailed, but the post does explain that we’ll see “Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld.”
The Han Solo film is currently targeting a release in 2018, with directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord leading the effort.
