Wacky And Creepy Halloween Events

A Halloween event can help you get into the trick or treating mood. Throughout the world, especially in the U.S., there are a variety of different wacky or creepy events to choose from. Here are some of the top events to help you get into the Halloween spirit.

  • Fantasy Fest In Key West, Florida   October 21-30, 2016

This event features a nonstop street parade filled with outrageous costumes. It’s not uncommon to see people just painted with body paint. The more risqué costume the better at this event. This year’s theme is Political Voodoo & Ballot Box Barbarians so many of the costumes will be themed after that. Besides just checking out all the costumes, other events include parades, street performers and musical acts.

  • The Official Salem Witches’ Halloween Ball In Boston, Massachusetts   October 28

During the month of October there’s almost always a Halloween event going on in Boston. The city is known for its Salem witch trials, which no doubt has probably inspired some of these events, including the Official Salem Witches’ Halloween Ball. The ball features witches casting spells and fires on top of hills as a way to honor the dead. The theme for this year is Over The Rainbow, The Magical World Of Oz. Activities to take place include psychic readings and a costume contest.

  • Banks Of The Foyle Hallowe’en Carival In Derry, Ireland   October 28-31

While this event doesn’t tend to be that well-known by those that live outside of the area, it does have about 50,000 attendees each year. Most people wear costumes and if they want to have a pint at a pub then they have to dress up as many establishments will actually refuse to serve patrons that are just dressed in just their street clothes! When it comes to costumes, the wackier the better and most people choose to wear homemade ones. Events include a rather impressive fireworks display for such a small town and a carnival parade filled with a variety of floats and costumes.

  • Village Halloween Parade In New York City, New York   October 31, 2016

This is one of the most anticipated Halloween events in New York City. This 3-hour parade will be taking place in the West Village. There will be large puppets, dancers, floats and 53 bands with performers from around the world. One of the best parts about this event is that anyone in costume can participate in the parade. If you can’t watch the parade in person, it will be televised on TV.
