We already knew that Greg Davies was going to be appearing in a Humans special for Stand Up To Cancer and we had an inkling that it was going to be pretty darn hilarious.

And, of course, it was - made more so by the fact that Greg was joined by a bunch of other celebrities as a whole host of malfunctioning synths.

It all kicked off when Gemma Chan's Anita malfunctions, and as she's sent away for repairs, her family receive a courtesy synth in the form of Greg Davies, or Bert.

As it turns out, he's not so great at keeping the house running smoothly either, announcing himself with a broken doorbell, and a broken gnome, and mistaking Siri on an iPhone for a small child being trapped inside (which he did managed to fix - by breaking it).

His battery also ran out surprisingly quickly - a problem we all know pretty well, to be fair - but is only compatible with the second generation charger or below. Typical.

Luckily, there was a whole host of back-up synths available while Bert was getting himself repaired too, including Vanessa Feltz, Louis Spence and Joe Swash, who was asked if he came with a different voice setting.

(He didn't.)

The actual drama series of Humans launches its new series on October 30, sadly without Greg Davies and co, but Gemma will be returning along with Katherine Parkinson. Colin Morgan and Jessica Jones's Carrie-Anne Moss.

Channel 4 has been airing a number of Stand Up To Cancer TV show specials and segments in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK, including the return of Davina McCall's Streetmate and a The Last Leg special that saw John Legend playing his new single on Adam Hills's bum, naturally.

So far tonight, Stand Up To Cancer has raised an incredible Β£6,463,407 and counting.
