A good number of consumers believe technology improves the restaurant experience, according to a study, conducted by Toast Restaurant POS, with 79 percent expressing the sentiment.
The survey, conducted between July and August, analyzed over 1,100 diners nationwide.
Eighty eight percent of consumers reported placing online orders, 27 percent reported using online ordering on a weekly basis, and 62 percent placed orders using mobile devices or tablets, according to a release.
"The study's findings not only provide deep insight into the impact of restaurant technology tools and trends but also serve to help restaurant owners and managers prioritize how to invest in new capabilities for 2017 and beyond," said Chris Comparato, Toast CEO, in a release.
