Paris’ New Law Allows Anyone To Plant Urban Gardens

Paris is known for being a beautiful city where romance and love blossom. Well now, there’s a new law passed in Paris which might add even more beauty to the city. This law allows Parisians to have gardens in their urban dwellings. In fact, this law actually encourages Parisians to start gardens and even provides them with a “planting kit” to help them get started.

Parisians who start gardens will receive 3-year permits which are renewable. These permits allow them to grow flowers, fruits, vegetables and many other kinds of plants. However, the gardens must be sustainable which means gardeners cannot use pesticides on their plants. By 2020, Mayor Anne Hidalgo wants to grow the amount of green space in Paris to an additional 100 hectares.
