I like getting and sending mail but I think that people have this expectation that because I’m creative that I will send them this handmade WOW card.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen very often.

While I like to send handmade cards I only send the WOW cards to people that I think will appreciate them. You know, the folks who will look it over, appreciate your work and tack it to a bulletin board so they can look at it now and again.

As opposed to those folks who will look at it, keep it for a few days and then unceremoniously toss it into the trash.

And sometimes an occasion calls for a simple note card. Someone just needs to know you are thinking about them. Nothing fancy.

This card is for those occasions where you 1. Want to send a handmade card and don’t mind if it gets tossed 2. You just need space to send a heartfelt note and not much else 3. You need a card and you need it NOW.

Because I’d much rather take the card making made easy route and send more average looking cards than send only a few WOW cards.

Supplies:

• Scalloped Marvy Uchida Extra Giga Punches – Circle or Oval
• Inkadinkado birds on a branch stamp
• Wishing you blue skies stamp
• Staz On – Black
• Card Blanks
• Clouds scrapbook paper
• paper adhesive of your choice

Using the Extra Giga Punch punch out a circle or oval and adhere it to the card blank with your favorite adhesive. Stamp the birds on the sky paper and the sentiment underneath.

The first two images are from the same card I created back in 2010 here: Card Making: Blue Skies Card. I ran out of that batch of cards a while ago and decided over the weekend to create another batch.

I updated one of them with the resin feather and ribbon and I’ll be sharing the products and techniques I used for that embellishment later this week.
