CLOVERDALE: Presentation on SMART Train

“The SMART Train – Is It Coming to Cloverdale?” will be the topic of the Cloverdale Museum's Speaker Series presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cloverdale Performing Arts Center, 209 N. Cloverdale Blvd.

Guest speakers include Matt Stevens, Community Relations Manager, Sonoma/Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) District and Mitch Stogner, Executive Director, North Coast Railroad Authority.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with live music at 6:30 p.m., featuring a medley of train songs sung by Cloverdale's very own Bruce Halbohm.

Tickets are $10 and available online at cloverdalehistory.org, or in person at either the Mail Center, 207-A N. Cloverdale Blvd. or the History Center, 215 N. Cloverdale Blvd.

CLOVERDALE: City welcomes new restaurants

Two new restaurants, Keith's Firehouse BBQ & Ribs and The Post, have recently opened in downtown Cloverdale.

Located at 485 S. Cloverdale Blvd. in the former Owl Café building, Keith's Firehouse has completely revamped the interior and meat is cooked to order on the outdoor grill. Inside, the brightly colored décor includes firehouse touches like fire hoses and memorabilia, as well as rescued oak tabletops and countertops.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Keith's Firehouse is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. 894-6483

After much anticipation, The Post Restaurant, located at 102 S. Cloverdale Blvd., is now open from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday, serving locally sourced produce, meats and fish prepared by Executive Chef Erik Johnson.

GEYSERVILLE: Sculpture moving to Soda Rock Winery

Lord Snort, Geyserville Sculpture Trail's latest sculpture by Sonoma County Artist Bryan Tedrick, will be moving to its permanent home at Soda Rock Winery Wednesday, November 9.

This is the second of Tedrick's sculptures displayed in Geyserville that has been purchased by Ken Wilson. Tedrick's Coyote sculpture has been on display at Wilson Winery since its purchase.
