If you always preferred the "downstairs" in Upstairs, Downstairs (or have considered embarking on a Downton Abbey role-playing trip), well, have we got a job listing for you: Queen Elizabeth is hiring a "Housekeeping Assistant" to tend to Buckingham Palace.

The position, which is currently posted on the Royal Household's career page, will include the requisite cleaning duties, but the job will be anything but typical.

"This is no standard housekeeping role. You'll work, and live, in stunning historic settings, ensuring that they're presented to their best for colleagues, guests and, of course, the Royal Family," says the advertisement.

"Aiming for the highest standards, you'll clean and care for interiors and items from carpets and furniture to historic vases and irreplaceable paintings. You'll take care of guests and support special events too," it continues.

If you're not well-versed in caring for priceless works of art, not to worry. The position promises on-the-job training, requiring only time management, communication, and team working skills in addition to an enthusiastic positive attitude.

No specific salary is mentioned in the description, though the position does promise accommodations, meals, 33 holidays a year, and a 15 percent contribution to a pension.

If cleaning isn't your cup of tea, Buckingham Palace is also hiring a groundsperson.
