Pokémon GO comes close to finally letting you catch Pokémon in real life, but a new trend is making that dream more real than the popular app ever could.

Nichole's Nerdy Knots , a Facebook page run by a hobbyist crocheter, is leading this new trend by making crochet Pokémon and leaving them at public spots in various cities for people to find and take home.

So far, she's left Pokémon including Oddish, Snorlax, Bellsprout, Bulbasaur, Zubat and the ever-popular Pikachu hidden at random public locations - some of which just so happen to be PokéStops on Pokémon GO .

With more people getting behind #CrochetGO, you could be lucky enough to find your own Pokémon whilst out and about

Nichole may be the trend-setter, but she's certainly not the only person participating in this interesting act of generosity, with fans of her Facebook page engaging with the #CrochetGO hashtag and leaving their own creations out in the wild.

If you want to get involved, you can head over to the Nichole's Nerdy Knots Facebook page and view some free crochet patterns to get started.
