Liam Gallagher is "a c**t", it's official. Oh yeah, and he's signed a record deal.

The former Oasis frontman has signed to Warner Bros Records UK, part of Warner Music Group, to release his debut solo album.

And he's got a big old egg on his face because of it...

"Very excited to be signing to the mighty Warner Brothers," Liam said. "Looking forward to making some super sweet sounds. Keep the faith!"

But hang on just a minute there, Mr Gallagher. Didn't you say that you wouldn't be signing a record deal earlier this year?

Writing on Twitter back in January, Liam slammed rumours that he was going solo in typical Liam fashion... because he was - and we quote - "not a c**t".

So now, having signed a solo record deal, the singer was forced to admit the inevitable.

It's alright, Liam. We forgive you. Don't look back in anger and all that.

Phil Christie, president of Warner Bros Records UK, added: "Liam's one of the all-time greats - brilliant, distinctive, controversial and captivating.

"The album he's currently recording is big, bold and heartfelt, and it feels important and culturally relevant."
