Your Guide to Education Technology: The Periodic Table of Ed Tech

Looking for new tools? Then check out this periodic table of ed tech I found on Twitter. I watch social media closely and it's my job to share some of the hot topics on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other outlets that teachers, principals, students, and parents are contributing.

Alex Corbitt recently posted an interesting infographic from Daily Genius on his Twitter account called “The Periodic Table of Education Technology.” This periodic table of ed tech functions as a guide to the education technology movement. Popular ed tech tools are broken down into categories via different color blocks, all of it pieced together to resemble the periodic table. You can see the infographic below.

The world of ed tech can feel quite overwhelming at times, but this table helps break it down by dividing it into digestible parts. The table highlights some of the most popular ed tech subjects, like coding and social networking, along with listing various hardware commonly used in the classroom and popular education conferences. Given the nature of the picture, it doesn't give you a lot of information, but it does give you starting points so you can begin your ed tech research.

What sections would you add? Is there anything listed on here you would recommend or wouldn't recommend? Have you been to any of the conferences listed at the bottom? What was it like?
