After our bathroom remodel something had to be done with the door and mirror. So I got out my paint and unicorn spit and started to work.

Definitely didn't go anymore. So I took off the mirror and did a coat of white primer. Then I did two coats of the same paint color that is on the walls.
Much better. If anyone is wondering about the little cubby space next to the door - I painted a piece of wood with unicorn spit in patina peacock and added a crystal knob that belonged to my grandmother.
I got some decorative trim from the hardware store, and got out my mitre box and saw. I could not for the life of me wrap my brain around how to do the cuts to frame the mirror so youtube to the rescue there. Once I saw someone do it it made sense. I measured and cut, and messed it up and cut again. ☹️ Obviously not one of my talents. Kinda like stencils.
Once cut I used zia teal unicorn spit and painted one coat with a chip brush. Then I mixed some fine glitter (Martha Stewart Turquoise) in with Patina peacock unicorn spit to really amp up the sparkle. I painted a coat of that on and let it dry .Because the trim was going in a bathroom I used the spar ureathane to seal. This took forever to dry! My basement must be really humid so I finally brought the pieces upstairs after a few days. They finally stopped feeling tacky after a week. 🙄
I put the mirror back on the door and then used wood glue to hold the trim pieces around the mirror. It looks much better. I had originally thought I could use a dremel and route out a space in the trim to cover the screws that hold the mirror in place. That did not work out at all so I ended up cutting the trim pieces and left a space for the screws between each.
Here is the cubby door and the knob up close. My contractor said his wife fell in love with the unicorn spit and wants a set of her own...love it!
Here are the materials used. It was easy except for the cutting part, but I learned something new there so that's always a good thing right? The time noted of one week was for the drying of the sealer....
