The post has drawn more than 70,000 likes and nearly 1,400 comments, including this one: "Love this! I applaud you for having larger sizes and for displaying this model just like all the others. This is a great start."

The photo was not a one-shot deal.

Nike Women followed up with another Instagram post featuring buxom New York yoga instructor Claire Fountain.

That one has drawn more than 60,000 likes and counting online.

The media noticed that Nike, which usually features skinny, hard-bodied models, was taking a new approach.

The New York Daily News wrote: "Nike cheered for busting out plus-sized models in new sports bra campaign.

Elite Daily's headline read: "Nike Is Finally Starting To Represent Women Of Different Sizes."

Wrote Elite Daily: "Nike is no stranger to enlisting models and influencers, along with its usual roster of athletes, to help represent the brand. Broadening the type of women the company uses in this regard should serve to only broaden its reach."
