Animal trainers Kristen Frizzell and Carly Greenspan were here to showcase two reptiles from the National Aquarium for today’s Creature Feature segment, a native box turtle and cornsnake – two animals that people might see out and about this time of year.
“Box turtles are omnivores and eat a variety of worms, insects, snails, mushrooms, berries, flowers, even carrion. Cornsnakes feed primarily on mice and small rats but might also eat bats, birds, lizards and frogs,” tells Kristen.
The National Aquarium is a nonprofit organization focused on changing the way humanity cares for the ocean. What began over 35 years ago as a visitor attraction has evolved into a conservation organization that operates a world-class aquarium.
