See Ozzy Osbourne Record Metal Voiceover for Disney Cartoon
Ozzy Osbourne makes a heavy metal cameo in an upcoming episode of animated Disney XD series The 7D, a modern update of the title characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Black Sabbath frontman and wife Sharon play the Duke and Duchess of Drear – parents of daughter Kelly’s character, witch Hildy Gloom – in “Bummer Vacation,” which premieres Saturday, July 30th at 9:30 a.m. ET.
In a behind-the-scenes clip, the Osbourne family gathers in the studio to record their voiceovers. “I have the honor of having my real-life mum and dad play [Hildy’s] mum and dad on a vacation that we’re going on,” Kelly says. Ozzy gets into character as the long-haired Duke, who gives Hildy singing lessons and knocks out a “Crazy Train”-referencing vocal line.
Kelly teased the episode last September, posting an Instagram photo of the family in the studio.
It’s a big TV weekend for the Osbournes: In the latest episode of History Channel’s globe-spanning Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour, father and son will journey to the Alamo – an infamous spot in Ozzy history as, according to legend, he was arrested there in 1982 after urinating on the iconic monument.
The duo recently spoke to Rolling Stone about the bonding experience of filming the show. “It’s kind of awesome to be 30 years old and spending, like, 10 weeks traveling with your dad,” Jack said. “By the time you’re 30 and married, this type of thing usually doesn’t happen. So it was a pretty awesome opportunity.”
