A new wellness center has opened for numerous weight loss options

Salisbury has a new wellness center facility and has been in the works for about two years. The Peninsula Regional Weight Loss & Wellness Center physically moved on site in March of this year and opened the doors to clients in June.

The center has a professionally trained staff to help patients with their weight loss needs, such as dietitians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and support groups.

Director Christine Carpenter said it is a year long program that people would register for and have access to an on-sight exercise facility, vegetable gardens outside, and other weight loss options for everybody.

According to a 2014 study from the Wicomico County Health Department. 37.5% of Wicomico/Worcester adults are obese.

Based on this study, Carpenter says that this program is important because of the personalization that they have there.

Carpenter tells 47 ABC that everybody is going to be in support groups with different people helping them but it’s going to be personalized from their eating plan to their fitness plans.

Carpenter claims that everything is personalized for each single person.
