New three-year agreement between Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Teamsters
Contract covers close to 900 Teamster-represented employees
Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Teamsters Local 776 have reached a new three-year collective bargaining agreement, effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019.
The Medical Center’s Teamster-represented employees ratified the tentative agreement late Friday. An agreement that covers approximately 900 Medical Center employees who work in various fields including food services, patient transport, housekeeping, facilities and other technical services.
“This agreement recognizes the important contributions of our Teamster-represented staff. It is positive for our employees and those we serve,” said Alan Brechbill, executive director of Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
“This multi-year contract provides competitive wages and benefits for our employees and ensures our continued focus on our missions of patient care, research, education, and service to our community.”
The new agreement provides guaranteed wage increases for employees in each of the three contract years along with a competitive health care benefits package.
