Snapchat Suggest
Snapchat has finally given us a way to discover and promote other users within the platform instead of through outside means with a Suggest button. This feature will allow users to “suggest” other users to follow to their friends via a direct message.
This is a huge opportunity for brand promotion within the app. Instead of plastering your Snap Code on every other social media platform, you can now encourage fans, brand advocates, and employees to get on the Snapchat bandwagon and share your brand’s Snapchat account if they haven’t already!

Facebook Live Updates
Facebook Live has cooked up a new batch of updates. The feature that is catching users’ eyes is the new ability to hide reactions and comments during a stream, an effort to minimize harassment on the platform.

For brands with access to Live, this means more control over conversations visible to your audience as well.

The update also included horizontal capability for streaming to give users a larger canvas and the original time limit of 90 minutes of streaming has been upped to 4 hours.

It’s obvious Facebook has big plans for Live, and we can't wait to see what else it has up its sleeve!

Twitter Verified Accounts
The Twitter “verified” check mark has long been a feature beyond the control of Twitter users, typically given out by the platform to accounts of public figures or organizations to ensure users that they are the real deal.

Now, anyone will be able to apply online for the coveted blue mark, Twitter announced in a blog post last week. This doesn’t mean that Twitter will be just handing check marks out.

The platform has stated that an account may be given verified status “if it is determined to be of public interest.”

This highly sought-after mark of approval not only adds esteem to your profile but gives your content a boost to the top of timelines. If your brand meets these criteria, this can be a great way to add to your brand’s credibility and reach. Better Twitter impact? Check!

Periscope Highlights
Periscope is joining Facebook in the live video update efforts with the addition of a Highlight feature. It’s not clear exactly how the platform will choose which parts of a stream are highlight-worthy, but Periscope’s blog stated that it looks at “a variety of signals” to pick out the best pieces. It also added the ability to embed live video content into Tweets, instead of just displaying the URL to the stream.

Twitter TV
Twitter has been making deal after deal to get live content to be streamed on its platform, but the newest one with the NBA is something a little more original. The NBA has agreed to make two “live original programs” exclusively for Twitter (although they won’t hand over the rights to live stream games). This content will be the first of its kind on the platform, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out. Note: the NBA is playing on both sides of the court, see its deal with Facebook below!

Bitmojis, a customizable take on regular emoticons, are now integrated with Snapchat, leaving Snap artists to get as creative as Snapchat did with this update announcement! Snapchat’s July 19th blog post featured a comic strip made entirely of Bitmojis taking the announcement to the next level — or should we say panel. Making standout visual announcements like this is a surefire way to get noticed!
Hashtag
With the Olympics drawing near, so are marketing opportunities galore, and Coca-Cola is hopping on the podium. The brand has partnered with influencers on social media to create their own stories of  personal achievements using the hashtag #ThatsGold. A brand everyone knows partnering with powerful influencers? Sounds like Coca-Cola is really going for the gold.
