Concrete Concerts series offers performances on East 9th through the month of July

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Nine concerts featuring everything from funk to classical are scheduled for July in businesses and in public spaces along East 9th Street.

The first of the nine summer concerts was held Tuesday on the corner of Rockwell and East 9th, and featured Dee Jay Doc. The series is hosted by the LAND Studio, which helped redesign Public Square.

Most of the weekday concerts coincide with the end of the working day, while the weekend concerts are mostly scheduled for early afternoon.

The next show is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Al's Deli and features TriHearn, a trio that plays Irish, Scottish and American Folk Music.

Here's the schedule:

* TriHearn will play at Al's Deli at 1:30 p.m. July 9.

* Orquesta la Sonora will play at Heinen's at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12.

* Stephen Haluska will play at the corner of Prospect Avenue and East 9th Street 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16.

* The Cleveland Cello Quartet will play at Phoenix Coffee at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 23.

* Funk Yard Experiment will play at Willard Park at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26.

* Mustache Yourself will play at the MetroHome at noon Wednesday, July 27.

* Reliving the Roxy will play at the Galleria at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 29.

* Sam Blakeslee's Large Ensemble will play at Heinen's at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
