    FRIDAY, JULY 1

    Wreath-laying ceremony — 10 a.m. at the tomb of Samuel Huntington, Norwichtown Colonial Burial Ground, between Old Cemetery Lane and East Town Street; Huntington was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, president of Congress during Articles of Confederation, Connecticut governor and chief justice.

    Samuel Huntington-themed pub crawl — beginning at 6 p.m. at several locations, downtown Norwich; Trivia contests, Huntington re-enactor; Colonial garb encouraged. The crawl starts at La Stellas Pizzeria, 1 Market St., and will continue to Harp & Dragon Irish Pub, Billy Wilson's Ageing Still and These Guys Brewing.

    SATURDAY, JULY 2

    LobsterFest and Juried Art Show — 10 a.m.-5 p.m., East Lyme Town Hall grounds, 108 Pennsylvania Ave.; 56th annual show with barbecue, lobster and more than 150 juried artists and crafters; also Sun.; nianticlions.org.

    SUNDAY, JULY 3

    U.S. Coast Guard Band — 2 p.m., Leamy Hall, U.S.Coast Guard Academy, 15 Mohegan Ave., New London; John Philip Sousa's diverse works are performed alongside rousing favorites by Strauss, Wagner, and Puccini in "Sousa Spectacular," celebrating Independence Day; free; (860) 701-6826.

    MONDAY, JULY 4

    Parade and Family Fun Event — 10 a.m., Baldwin School, Route 14, Canterbury; parade participants form at 9 a.m.; food, entertainment follows at town hall; rain or shine.

    Independence Day Parade — 10 a.m., Sound View, Hartford Avenue, Old Lyme; sponsored by the Sound View Beach Association; (860) 434-6426.

    Stonington Parade — 10 a.m., Wadawanuck Square, Water and High streets, Stonington Borough.

    Groton Parade — 10 a.m., Poquonnock Plains Park to the Groton Shopping Center at Drozdyk Drive.

    Celebrate the 4th — 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Leffingwell Museum, 348 Washington St., Norwich; Revolutionary tour with artifacts, documents, journals and newspapers from 1776; $5, $3 seniors, age 11 and under; (860) 889-9440.

    Boom Box Parade — 11 a.m., Jillson Square, Main Street, Willimantic; led by Grand Marshal Wayne Norman; (860) 456-1111.

    Old-Fashioned Independence Day Celebration — 1-4 p.m., Nathan Lester House & Farm Tool Museum, 153 Vinegar Hill Road, Ledyard; performances by Sisters in Song, American folk musician Rick Spencer, and colonial magician Joseph Potter; demonstrations of hearth cooking, butter churning and weaving are just some the family activities planned; $5 donation ages 18+; (860) 464-2040.
