Learning from Dora the Explorer

Clinton announced that she picked the most milquetoast VP pick, Tim Kaine. There is a lot to complain about with him, but his speaking Spanish is one of his better points. He's not only fluent but he has an ease with the language that lets his goofy charm shine through.
However, racist and Christian writer, Scottie Nell Hughes didn't like it. You see, even though you need a chart to understand the conspiracy theories laid out in the RNC speeches, she could understand them perfectly, but because Tim Kaine might possibly habla some Español, Miss Hughes freaks out.
Now, we expect that some Trump supporter might say something crazy, but Wolf Blitzer didn't even blink. He didn't stop her and say anything like "Say what, home girl? Nuh uh!" or "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold it right there, Spinach Chin!" Instead he moved the conversation forward.
This week I have been debating with a German friend about freedom of speech. There was a failure of Wolf Blitzer in this. My argument is it's okay to let people say hate speech as long as the media names and shames them. Wolf Blitzer's job is to have said something. Because, if we make a sensible law curbing hate speech, when we have a Republican President, they might do something like call #BlackLivesMatter hate speech and ban them.
Wolf Blitzer should be ashamed, not just for having a racist on his show, but for not saying anything about it.
Heads up. I might be making people like Miss Hughes a Dora comic so they can brush up on it.
