How to maximize employee engagement

How to maximize employee engagement

It’s not enough just to set goals for your company. You’ve got to take it further to maximize employee engagement and increase your profitability. Here are some key things to do to make sure your goals are effective:

1. Share company goals clearly with your employees.

Your employees need to know what your company’s big goals are, and why. Communicating that to them lets them know they are an important part of the big picture for success.

2. Have employees set appropriate individual goals that will help the company meet its overall goals.

This gives them ownership in the overall goal, which will increase their personal investment. They’ll feel more valued. Feeling valued engages them more and inspires them to go above and beyond for your business.

3. Tailor your performance expectations to the individual, not just their job description.

People respond to performance reviews in different ways. When evaluating someone’s progress toward a specific goal, take his or her communication style into account. This shows respect and appreciation, and will give them more confidence to go for those important goals.

 4. If you can, offer an incentive program to your staff.

Companies using incentive programs reported a 79% success rate in achieving their established goals when the correct reward was offered.
