A Bustling Summer at SES
It's been a busy few months at the consortium as we prepare for our first event of 2016. Hosted at The University of Cambridge, Time to Share: Navigating Boundaries and Benefits brings Early Career Researchers and Data Management professionals together to investigate common issues on accessing, recording and storing sensitive or difficult data. Keynote Speakers include:
Personal, not Painful: Practical and Motivating Experiences in Data Sharing
- Louise Corti, The UK Data Centre
Data Transparency and Replication
- Dr. Nicole Janz, Department of Sociology, The University of Cambridge
Better knowledge, better society: how ADRC-E can support your research and enhance its impact
- Prof. Peter Smith, The Administrative Data Research Centre for England
Now live is our interview with Dr. Sergey Yurchenko from UCL Physics and Astronomy. An Emerald user, Dr. Yurchenko employs large GPU's to analyse data from satellites such as Twinkle and Hubble with the ultimate goal of identifying inhabitable exoplanets where water may be present. In the video below he introduces us to exoplanets and the 'barcodes' used to discover these earth-like planets. Stay tuned for part two!
