The Bit Run Brings Running and Gaming Together In Minneapolis This Summer

by AJ Moser on Jun 29, 2016 at 10:34 AM

A local event in Minneapolis is combining the thrills of a competitive race and a gaming tournament later this Summer. Hosted at Richfield Veterans Park in Minnesota, The Bit Run will let participants take part in a 4K or 8K run that features stops for video game challenges.

Sign up and registration for the event is live now, with a number of brackets for various age ranges. There will also be a costume contest, and participants are encouraged to dress like their favorite gaming characters. The run starts at 8:30am on July 31, and the event will conclude with a live music performance from local artist Do a Barrel Roll!, a video game-themed band.

Runners will stop at "Boss Challenges" as they progress, featuring Super Smash Bros, Runbow, and Mario Kart 8. The map of the event's route can be seen below.

Local game developers will be at the event to show off their games as well. The Bit Run has partnered with Mill City Running to host the event.
