Lower crime rates and quality public schools are among the many factors that draw people to the suburbs.

A company called Niche recently took a closer look at those and other key elements, including cost of living and amenities, that make city-adjacent communities desirable, and ranked them accordingly.

See the top 10 suburbs:

Coming in at the top is Superior, Colorado, earning A+ marks for its plentiful outdoor activity options and overall health and fitness.

Second place Merrifield, Virginia, is touted for excellence in the categories of schools, diversity, and nightlife.

Rollingwood, Texas, a hub for family-friendly diversions, takes third, followed by Park City, Utah, and Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, respectively.

McNair, Virginia, is ranked 6th and Arlington, Virginia, 7th.

Rounding out the top 10 are, in order, Clay Township, Indiana, Carmel, Indiana, and Louisville, Colorado.

In determining which suburbs are the greatest in the country, Niche reviewed data on over 8,700 locations and ranked nearly 7,500 of them.
